TRANSPORT
Local
Finchley Road is a north-south arterial road and has frequent buses to central London. Hampstead Underground station (Northern Line) is approximately a six-minute walk away. Its tube trains take you to the British Library, the British Museum and West End theatres. Finchley Road Underground station (Jubilee Line) is a short bus ride. From there you can get easily to Bond Street, Oxford Street and Piccadilly or continue on to Canary Wharf business centre in east London. The Overground line from Finchley Road & Frognal station goes to Kew Gardens and Richmond in south west London.
International
The Eurostar high-speed train to Paris or Brussels departs from the splendidly restored Kings Cross-St Pancras station, just a short ride from Hampstead Underground. Mainline trains to Gatwick and Luton airports stop at nearby West Hampstead station.
HAMPSTEAD HEATH
Attractive period buildings line the narrow streets that lead to the 780 acre Heath, where you can walk, enjoy the 18th-century formality of Kenwood House and its grounds, swim in one of the natural ponds or view city landmarks from the top of Parliament Hill.
